Crafting Meaning
and Purpose
Know Yourself — Do What You Love
Psychological research into what makes life meaningful — translated into practical understanding, activities, and resources.

Don't give up.
A Different Starting Point
Many answers to questions of meaning and purpose begin with philosophical ideas, religious beliefs, psychological theories or assumptions about how people ought to live.
Crafting Meaning and Purpose began differently. These influences were deliberately set aside in order to investigate meaning and purpose through careful psychological study of lived experience itself.
The research sought to identify what was common to experiences of meaninglessness — and to the pathways by which people developed lives experienced as meaningful and purposeful.
This website translates the findings into practical understanding, activities and resources, while also supporting further research into questions that emerged from them.
